What? Iceland isn't made just of ice? Come join us for this course in exploring why Iceland is called the Land of Fire and Ice. During the week, you'll discovered the incredible geological history of Iceland- and how Iceland is still being created. In the process, you'll create and explode your own volcano. You will learn how Icelandic children dress and how their schools compare to our schools. You will learn the fascinating history of the Icelandic Yule Lads, which are the Icelandic Santas! During the week, you'll create a brochure (either paper or virtual) about these Yule Lads and the mischief they get into. Iceland is in a perfect location to help birds, and you will discover why birds find Iceland so important to their survival. You'll even make a bird map! Join some friends as we explore this island country which is known for more than ICE!
